Summary (Goodreads):
For seventeen years, Eloise Hart had no idea the world of Faery even existed. Now she has been abducted and trapped in the Rath of Lord Strahan, King of Faery. Strahan was only meant to rule for seven years, as Faery tradition dictates, and then give up his crown to another. But he won't comply, and now chaos threatens both worlds.
The only one who can break his stranglehold on the Faery court is his wife. . . Eloise's aunt Antonia. Using Eloise to lure Antonia, Strahan captures his wife, desperate to end the only threat to his reign. Now Eloise must become the rescuer. Together with her best friends Jo and Devin, she must forge alliances with other Fae, including a gorgeous protector named Lucas, and Strahan's mysterious son, Eldric-who may or may not betray them.
My Thoughts:
By the summary, it sounds like this story has really only one main character, right? Wrong. It changes points of views between Eloise and Jo.
That is one of the reasons that I didn't like this story. It almost seemed like two separate stories squished into one. Jo's love interest was Eldric and Eloise's was Lucas. I really wanted to sympathize with Eloise's character, but I couldn't with Jo's character's chapters butting in every other chapter. It really annoyed me. I actually found myself skipping over Jo's parts, to read on in Eloise's.
I really don't like it when the summary doesn't mention anything about changing points of views. I really hate surprises, so don't be surprised about the rating I gave this book.
So, it got a two, because I disliked every other chapter in the book, but I did like Eloise's chapters and Lucas's character.
