Summary (Goodreads):
Two irresistible boys. One unforgettable summer. Lori can’t
wait for her summer at the lake. She loves wakeboarding and hanging with her
friends—including the two hotties next door. With the Vader brothers, she's
always been just one of the guys. Now that she’s turning sixteen, she wants to
be seen as one of the girls, especially in the eyes of Sean, the older brother.
But that’s not going to happen—not if the younger brother, Adam, can help it. Lori
plans to make Sean jealous by spending time with Adam. Adam has plans of his
own for Lori. As the air heats up, so does this love triangle. Will Lori’s
romantic summer melt into one hot mess?
My Thoughts:
I had read the first story, The Boys Next Door, before the second one had come out, and I
thought it was great.
So, when I saw the first one and the second one, together in
one volume, I thought “I might as well, since I enjoyed the first book, I’ll
probably even like the second.”
But… I thought it was better where the first one left off. I
thought that it was great as is, and that the second one was just kind of…
hanging over.
BUT, I did enjoy a lot about the second one, not to mention
the first, also. I liked that in the second one, it alternated POVs
(Point-of-views) between Adam and Lori. I also like the wee bit of cliché in
the first one. What book isn’t good when an author successfully uses it?
I also like the little bit of a twist, but you’ll have to
read it to know what that is.
The book is great for those of you who like contemporary
young adult romances. If you like the more adventure/paranormal/non-romance
genre-type person, then don’t read this because it has none of that type of
stuff in it.
Also: This is a great summer/ beach-y/ travel read!
