Author Bio:

Born in small-town Ontario, Kathleen published her first book at the age of six with the help of her elementary school librarian and a box of crayons. She is a voracious reader and the farthest thing from a genre-snob, loving everything from High Fantasy to Chick Lit. Kathleen currently resides in a quaint small town outside of Toronto with her husband, two beautiful girls, and an exhausting brood of four-legged creatures.

Thank you to The Book Lover's Report for hosting me on my Allegiance Tour! Today's post is about what inspired me to write Allegiance and my favorite pastime.

Inspiration for ALLEGIANCE: I realized that I needed a third and fourth book to the Causal Enchantment series halfway through plotting Asylum (the second). I felt that Allegiance couldn't be the end, that there was a critical piece left to tell. I wanted to give the relationships a chance to grow before "fate" hit them hard (Book 4).

In Allegiance, Evangeline is finally reconnected with Caden and the pendant is off. Of course, nothing is ever easy for Evangeline. Allegiance gives readers a chance to see her tested and almost break under the strain of this dark world. It also shows her grow and change from the naïve girl who follows blindly in Anathema to the woman who resists the trap of fear and who must become as deceptive as the vampires in order to protect those she loves.

Favorite Pastime: Writing is Numero Uno for me. I wish I could just write all day, every day (but then I'd lose all grasp of reality and my wrists would burn something fierce). When I'm not writing? (or working, spending time with the kids, sleeping…), I love to read and can easily spend an entire day curled up in a chair, carving through a book until my eyes cross. Living in Canada and dealing with long winters, there's nothing better than sitting in front of a fire with hot chocolate and a good story while it snows outside.

I also have a penchant for decorating. I don't know how many walls I've painted or home furnishings shops I've visited or dollars I've wasted. I get bored very easily. When I was a kid, I would rearrange my bedroom at least once a year. Now I have a house of my own and a bank account… look out. J
