Summary (Goodreads):

One choice can transform you--or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves--and herself--while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable--and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

"New York Times" bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian "Divergent" series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.

My Thoughts:

This starts out where Divergent ended.

Tris, her brother, Peter, Tobias, and his father, Marcus, are running away from the massacre the the Dautless and Erudite had done on the Abnegation. They are trying to seek help from the peace-seeking Amity, who would rather turn them in than have to cause anything not peaceful. Tris is still struggling over having to kill Will, when he was under Erudite control and was about to kill her. Tris feels all the more guilty about it because she has told anybody, let alone Tobias.

The five of them seek to find out why the Erudite and Dauntless teamed up to wipe out the Abnegation, though Marcus may know more than he lets on.

Tobias and Tris travel all to the Amity, the Candor, and even the Factionless to try to get them on the side against the Erudite. They then find out that the Factionless group is bigger than they ever thought, and more powerful, and also willing to help against the Erudite... on one condition.

Wow. This book was... wow. I didn't even care about the humongous cliffhanger at the end. There was so many twists and turns, that I wasn't even sure about some things.

I really like Veronica Roth's writing. It was intricate and kept you waiting for more. I was practically salivating, waiting to read more. by the end of this, I was like 'WHAT? you can't just end like that!

Now, I can't wait for a next book, because the ending of this one was just like... 'Wha...'.

I can't wait for the next one! Oh, wait.... Did I say that already?

Well, anyway, this book, obviously got a five, from me.

I've been reading a lot of reviews for Insurgent lately. I still haven't read it even though I LOVED Divergent. I should really jump on it! Thanks for the review!
